The Macao Grand Prix is an international sports event held annually in the Guia Circuit with a total length of 6.2 km. It is known as the only street circuit in which both car and motorcycle races are held, with certain special features, such as uphill and downhill slopes, twisty corners, narrow lane, etc., and recognised as one of the most challenging circuits to racing drivers in the world. In order to coordinate with “The Outline of the Plan for the Reform and Development of the Pearl River Delta” launched by the Central Government, Macao SAR government, in October of 2007, announced the first phase construction of the Light Rapid Transit System (LRT), which officially entered the stage of large-scale construction in 2012. The map presents the first phase LRT system, stations of Taipa section and the LRT route map, in which the route covers a length of 8 km with 11 stations in total. Macao SAR government, in 2008, asked the Central Government for an approval of land reclamation, as the result the State Council, in November of 2009, gave approval to Macao SAR government for a 350-hectare land reclamation of Macao New Urban Zones. The land reclamation works consist of 5 districts, located respectively in the eastern side (Zone A) and southern side (Zone B) of the Macao Peninsula, as well as the northern side of Taipa (Zone C, D, E1, E2), amongst those, Zone A covers an area of about 138 hectares, B 47 hectares, C 33 hectares, D 59 hectares, E 73 hectares, and the total area is about 350 hectares. Macao Peninsula is made up of five parishes, which are Santo António, São Lázaro, São Lourenço, Sé, Nossa Senhora de Fátima, and with Nossa Senhora do Carmo (in Taipa) and São Francisco Xavier (in Coloane).
